Novel wearable computer systems called “Smart Wearables“ are bringing about a paradigm shift in the technology as it moves away from traditional hand-held electronic end devices to integrating networked intelligence in objects of everyday life. This makes handling much more intuitive whilst also bringing technology much closer to people.

True to the motto “Smart.Digital.Capital” Berlin profiled itself as a pan-European hotspot for the IT and digital industries. The “Projekt Zukunft“ initiative of the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research invited interested parties to immerse themselves for a day in Berlin’s ecosystem of labs, incubators, research establishments, start-ups, SMEs and creative minds. Coaches brought experts and interested parties to the German capital’s major IT hotspots. Each of the nine guided coach tours was focused on a different topic of interest, for instance Digital Security, Data Driven Innovation or Industrie 4.0.
